Celestia Fine Jewelry is dedicated to exclusively using lab-grown diamonds, recreating Earth’s billion-year process in a state-of-the-art, controlled environment. Lab-grown diamonds are identical to mined ones in chemical composition, brilliance, and durability—offering the same timeless beauty without the environmental or social costs.

Exceptional Diamonds, Thoughtfully Chosen
At Celestia, every piece is thoughtfully crafted with Type IIa diamonds—the rarest and purest grade, representing just 5% of all mined diamonds. Our diamonds are carefully selected for their beauty and quality, featuring D-F color—the most prized range—and VS+ clarity, with minimal inclusions.
Due to the undoubtful fact that lab grown diamonds are chemically identical to mined diamonds, the Federal Trade Commission changed the official definition of a diamond in July 2018 and withdrew the term “natural”, to include both lab-grown diamonds and mined diamonds. Diamonds, lab-grown and mined, are both officially certified by the globally recognized certification bodies such as IGI (International Gemological Institute) or GIA (Gemological Institute of America).

Diamonds, Reimagined
Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds—chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined ones, but created with cutting-edge technology instead of extracted from the earth. At Celestia, we use the CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) process, a high-tech method that mimics nature’s way of forming diamonds, but in a controlled environment.
It all starts with a tiny diamond seed, placed inside a sealed chamber heated to over 800°C. Carbon-rich gases like methane and hydrogen are then introduced and activated with plasma technology—think lasers or microwaves. This breaks the gas molecules apart, allowing pure carbon to bond layer by layer to the seed, growing into a diamond over time.
The result? A diamond that’s as brilliant as its mined counterpart, but crafted with innovation and responsibility.
CREATED Diamonds, Simplified
A lab-grown diamond is a "real" diamond, created using cutting-edge technology that mirrors the natural formation process. It has the same carbon structure, chemical makeup, and brilliance as a mined diamond.
The process starts with a small diamond seed placed in a sealed chamber, heated to around 800°C. Carbon-rich gases are introduced, bonding to the seed layer by layer. The result is a diamond that sparkles with the same fire and brilliance as one formed deep in the earth.
Yes, lab-grown diamonds are 100% real. They are chemically and physically identical to mined diamonds. In fact, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has revised its definition of a diamond to remove the term "natural," and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) evaluates them using the same grading standards as natural diamonds.
The only difference between mined and lab-grown diamonds is their origin. Lab-grown diamonds are created in controlled environments, ensuring a transparent supply chain and a significantly lower carbon footprint. In fact, they are indistinguishable from mined diamonds to the naked eye.
Unlike most natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds are free from nitrogen in their crystal structure, classifying them as Type IIa— the purest diamond type. This level of purity is exceptional, as only 5% of natural diamonds achieve it.
Lab-grown diamonds, like their natural counterparts, are graded based on the 4Cs established by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA): carat weight, color, clarity, and cut.
- Carat Weight: Carat measures the diamond's weight (not size), with one carat equaling 0.2 grams.
- Color: The color scale ranges from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow or brown), with D being the rarest and most valuable.
- Clarity: Clarity assesses the presence of inclusions visible under 10x magnification. Fewer inclusions equate to higher clarity and brilliance.
- Cut: The cut refers to a diamond’s symmetry, proportions, and polish, which determine its sparkle and light reflection.
At Celestia, we use only the finest lab-grown diamonds, Type IIa, with VS+ clarity and DEF color, ensuring exceptional brilliance and purity.
At Celestia, our lab-grown diamonds are created in collaboration with renewable energy-powered labs, and then meticulously designed and handcrafted in cutting-edge facilities in India.
Each round diamond weighing 0.7 carats or more is accompanied by an International Gemological Institute (IGI) certificate. This independent certification provides a detailed evaluation of your diamond’s 4Cs—color, clarity, carat, and cut—offering a reliable and trustworthy identity for your piece.
Celestia’s diamonds uphold the highest standards, featuring F+ color and VS+ clarity, ensuring unparalleled beauty and quality.
Lab-grown diamonds, often referred to as synthetic due to their man-made origin, are authentic diamonds. Unlike cubic zirconia and moissanite, which are diamond simulants, lab-grown diamonds have the same carbon structure as natural diamonds. Cubic zirconia is composed of zirconium dioxide, and moissanite, while a natural mineral, does not possess the unique properties that define a diamond.
